Down Memory Lane... FoMT and MFoMT
***********************************************************************
Thinking about marriage in Boy & Girl reminded me of Friends of Mineral Town and More Friends of Mineral Town, two of the greatest games ever made. In the days when I played FoMT, it never occurred to me to take screenshots of my games. I captured events in words. In fact, that was the start of my first game guide. Unfortunately, I cannot find my original game where I was married to Karen. I did, however, manage to find two old games. In one I was married to Elli and had a child. In the other, I had married Mary quite recently.
You will see the infamous mouse-eared child in both FoMT and MFoMT I am including some scenes from an old MFoMT game. My husband is not in evidence... so you will have to guess which one of the guys fathered this particular mouse-eared child!
When I revisited my old lives, I took a quick peek into my Refrigerator and Shelf and was thrilled to find that all my sentimental treasures remained safe... I include a photograph of the 'treasures' from the Blue Heart Events in MFoMT. I have all the gifts from the girls in my Shelf in FoMT, naturally.
For those who never played FoMT or MFoMT but who have played 'Boy & Girl', I am including a photograph of the 'White Flower of Happiness'. In MFoMT, you can obtain this flower more than once.
Here is the ultimate proof as well of the hours I put into research for my guides, for better or worse. My mother would be horrified at what she would consider a colossal waste of time and energy but to me, a job worth doing at all is worth doing properly. A life worth living is worth living properly and I consider my Harvest Moon lives to be 'real' on some plane of existence.

I am guessing that your husband is Gray, seeing Gray's brooch. I have one of those in my MFoMT game, though I lost my FoMT game when someone stole my backpack (and my GB SP!) when I was at my fried's party.
I thought the mouse-eared child was really cute, and I cooed over it (in real life) almost all the time.
Maybe HM exists on another dimension. Who knows? We just haven't gotten to that stage yet.
Hi Freyashawk
Just to let you know in HM:B&G I also found the White Flower of Happiness, one winter on top of the mountain. I told Basil about it and he was quite envious of the fact that I had found it! :-)
Regards
Shaggy
Kalypsocry, I know the photograph is very poor in quality but although I chose to highlight Grey's brooch, the Shelf contained the Blue Heart gifts from ALL five bachelors. If you look closely, you will see the Negative Ion wand from the Doctor (the strangest of the lot in my view), the Necklace made of flowers from Cliff, the Lucky Charm from a distant place from Kai and the watch that Rick inherited from his father. Despite all that, you are correct... my first husband WAS Grey, but I do try to marry all of them, one by one in every game.
And Shaggy, yes, it was when I spoke to Basil about the White Flower of Happiness that he called me a 'Dummy'!!! Actually, I think 'Dummy' is a code word of some sort for the insertion of special code in a game at a specific point... in this case, the White Flower of Happiness conversation. It was on the same day that May made her 2nd bizarre appearance at Ellen's house, to warn me about the pony... And the end of THAT story is that I was allowed to keep the pony at 7 hearts, which means that this game is a bit easier in that respect than Back to Nature, if the old Back to Nature guides were correct... (Which they were not, in every particular, but that's true of any guide.)
Hi Freyashawk.
My favorite gift of all the bachelors is Cliff. It is very beautiful and it meant alot. The gift from the Doctor was the strangest, but not as I noticed it had far more meaning than anyone's since it was for my health and he cared about that more than anything.
I always wanted to marry Elli. Her image in the wedding is undeniably beautiful!I also like Mary's.But I think she should have not taken the glasses off, as it makes her special and her own self.
I always am working on Karen but I do not succeed.
Karen is my favorite. Then comes Popuri. Then Elli. Then Mary and then Ann.Ann is not my personal favorite but I do like her personality.I like Popuri's personality the best, as she is childish...very much like me.

I find many of the gifts quite weird since you can't use them or wear them. I've played both MFoMT and FoMT and you can never do anything with them. I'm recentally trying for Popuri in FoMT. I have old games also but i accidentally deleted them. My favorite item in the whole game is the teleport stone =) (all season mine on the 255th floor!) For me Gray is the easiest guy in the game. Just give him lumber! He LOVES it =) I knw many tips and tricks since i've played this game for about 3 years. By the way have married all the guys and girls in both games?

Jazzie, I married all the girls in FoMT and most of the bachelors in MFoMT but I have to confess that I haven't married the Gourmet yet. I really found him SO unattractive... but one day I will marry him, for the sake of completion if nothing else. It's still one of my favourite games, despite the fact that the DS is a more sophisticated platform than the GBA.
And if you like the Teleport Stone, you'll be happy to know that you can BUY one at the Casino in both HM DS and HM Cute DS. Actually, you can buy one at Chen's shop in Island of Happiness as well, although the price is quite prohibitive at 100,000G. Even so, I consider a Teleport Stone indispensible in any Harvest Moon game, especially where friendship and courtship are concerned. You can visit every one daily if you have a Teleport Stone... although it's not quite as convenient in Island of Happiness, as it simply deposits you at the entrance to the area rather than the doorstep of any specific building.
As for the gifts in FoMT and MFoMT, yes, they can be rather unique, but that's part of their charm. I keep them in my cabinet and look at them from time to time, remembering the Heart Event that accompanied each gift. I actually prefer a gift that CANNOT be used, as otherwise I am torn between a need to use the item and the sentimental desire to keep it. In the Harvest Moon games where a bachelor or girl gives a gem or other special item, I always keep it separate from all the others of the same type, because I am so sentimental.
