Romance and Mischief from Prince Vince in Princess Debut

Each of the Princes in Princess Debut has a distinct personality and each interacts different with your character. Of all the Princes whom you can meet in your first game, Vince is the youngest and the most naive in terms of romance. Like many boys in their early teens, his way of expressing an interest in a girl is to play pranks on her. Here are some early encounters with Vince:

My personal favourite is the encounter where he purchases your character a 'Mimic Cookie.' As you can see, choosing the Turtle or Rabbit ends the Event quickly. If, however, you choose the cat, Vince's behaviour is very sweet and he endeavours to please his feline companion until he is utterly 'exhausted' by the exercise.

In my current game, I took Prince Luciano as my partner. Much to my dismay, directly after we gave a dazzling dance performance on 'Founding Day', he received a message from the King of his own land ordering him to return. He could not refuse a royal command, apparently, however much I begged him to stay and I abruptly found myself partnerless!

Part of me wants to remain unattached to see if he returns at the 11th hour to squire me to the Ball. Another part would be interested in exploring partnership with one of the other princes... Klaus perhaps?

My real favourite probably is Liam, but Luciano represented a bit of a challenge early in the game and that was what determined my choice.

I already know what happens on each part of the game, who leaves, when does he return and etc, etc. So I'm prepared lol

On anyways, when you eat the Cat cookie, my, it's so funny xD Adorable would be the best word. I like Vince's way to show that he likes you <3 Though, making you fall to the lake was... a little bit too much haha~

Actually, the only way to get Luciano's ending is to go through the entire game without having him, or anyone else, as your partner. If you make the correct selections on day 20 (I believe that's the day, it's called Rumba of Sorrow), then Luciano will return on the day before the ball and become your partner for the first time in the file, and you're then free to dance with him on the final day. It's cute. :3

Actually, I hate to admit it but I know the endings as well... I just wanted to keep the suspense going a little...

I know that Luciano will return only if you do not choose another partner. Actually, the event I had differs from the usual, though... in most cases, it seems that he will tell you he has decided to participate in the World Contest. In my game, he was FORCED to leave by his king. Kind of interesting...

Anon, reading your comment again, I think you are mistaken... but we'll see. I believe you simply need to stay unpartnered until Day 29 to regain Prince Luciano as your partner... Anyway, it will be interesting to try, after I finish my current projects.

It's so interesting to read your thoughts & comments about games that are not Harvest Moon related! And I was especially excited that you've picked up "Princess Debut" and will be reviewing it here! :)

That said, I must warn you NOT to be taken in by Prince Vince's innocence or his naiveté!!

On my first play-through of the game (w/o reading any FAQs beforehand), I, too, was charmed by Vince's innocent, jovial manners & boyish good looks, and accepted him as my partner within the first 5 days... before he reveals how big a jerk he actually is. Prince Vince is insensitive, rude, and immature. He plays pranks, makes angry faces over the most childish things, often skips dance practice, takes the romance out of most Heart Events, and demands constant baby-sitting & coddling to compensate for his insecurity. (He thinks you think he's childish, lol.) >_<;;

Seriously, I had only stayed for the entire length of the relationship just so I could unlock Vince's pics in the gallery... Upon playing the game many more times since, I've found out what my character had missed from that first partnership with Vince: a normal relationship! :P

Anon, I have to admit that I am a little shocked by the depth of hostility and rancour that has been expressed with respect to Prince Vince not only by you but by some other players as well. I finished my first game with three different Princes of which Vince was one and I thought he was really sweet. He is very cute as well. I mean, he can't help the fact that he is almost 5 years younger than some of the other princes! He actually MADE a Beaded Choker for me, which was very touching, I thought.

Another positive aspect of Vince is that you needn't take him as a partner until Day 28 if you would rather remain single until then to 'play the field'. He will continue to ask you until the very end, which is what allowed me to experience endings with three different princes using the same initial game.

That having been said, Luciano did NOT return on the 29th day. Whether it was because I gave the wrong responses or whether it was because we were partners previously, I do not know. I'll try again in another game.

O.K. I must admit defeat now to the first player who declared that you would not be able to have Luciano as your partner for the Ball under any circumstances if you had made him your partner BEFORE he left for the World Dance Competition. Not only did I try different responses but another player tried to make it occur in FOUR DIFFERENT GAMES without success!

25 February: There is one way to keep Luciano even if you have made him your partner prior to his departure as well as the way in which to persuade him to return by asking him to become your partner on the 19th. If he is your partner for the Founding Day Dance and then leaves, NEVER dance with any one else while he is gone and do not experience any of the optional Events. Just practice by yourself and stay in your room as much as possible. Frankly, it is not as much fun as the option to ask him to become your partner only on the 19th, then remain single but have the freedom to participate in as many Events and practice with as many other Princes as you wish...
