Boss Monsters in the 2nd Generation of Rune Factory 2

I made this little video tutorial very quickly, but hope it will help in guiding players through some of the initial 2nd Generation goals that lead to the entrance to the Palermo Shrine:

Remember that you need ALL Fragments from all four Stone Tablets before Barrett will be able to talk about the Dragon Break spell.

Having to defeat all monsters for the Mammoth? I don't remember if it was in JP or NA version, in which I fought the Mammoth without even seeing the other three bosses...

And now Palermo? More Italian cities! :D

Melvil, the chamber will remain empty until you have defeated the other Bosses. It certainly did in my own game. You can enter freely but your character will have a thought to the effect that something once inhabited this place but now has gone elsewhere...

Yes, Synth, Palermo is not even disguised Italian!

As for being 'tough', well, the only Boss who gave me any trouble whatsoever was the Crystal Mammoth until I studied his tactics a little. With the other three, if your levels are decent and you have good basic defence items, you simply can stand in front of them, take their damage and bash away until they are defeated.

You can't do that with the Mammoth. His first attack is a horrendous ice attack that will flatten you. Big shards of ice that have quite a range and surround him and smash any one near him. So you have to duck and run a little. Patience is the key. He is not fast and he is rather stupid. I made a little error with respect to his second attack as well, when he sucks you into him with his trunk... I tried to stand my ground and attack, because I was too impatient. It is better again to duck and move a little, getting in a blow or two where possible. Otherwise, he will stun you TWICE each time you stand in front of him after you are sucked towards him and stamp on you a couple of times. This can
be rather damaging.

If you keep moving and have a lot of patience, you can defeat him without taking much damage but it takes time and you have to be quick. I don't recommend magic attacks or special attacks. Best to save your RP for Cure when needed with this behemoth.

Anon, yes, you must remove all Poison Squares and till those squares as well. Use Neutraliser to remove the Poison.

Nightrose, look at the right side of this page and you will see links to all of my Rune Factory 2 Guides in the section for Rune Factory 2. The Bestiary and Caves Guide has a section that deals with the Boss Monsters and you will find detailed information about the Bane Dragon there.
