Wedding to Shea in Sunshine Islands

I took a break from typing lists and 'hard facts' into my Sunshine Islands Guides in order to record the Proposal Event with Shea and subsequent Wedding a week later:

Once again, Freya reloaded afterwards and remained single. I have recorded Denny's Events as well now.

Later: For all the players who have had trouble with Marriage in Sunshine Islands, there ARE requirements apart from the usual Harvest Moon general requirements in terms of Heart Level (deepest red), experiencing all Heart Events (the last of which is the 'date' in SI), having raised Mystic Islands, met the Harvest Goddess as well as Nathan and Alisa, buying the Spouse Bed and having a Blue Feather to make your Proposal.

In every case, you must have received ALL the Sun Stones that the individual has to offer. In other words, you must have obtained the Eligible Girl's/Bachelor's Personal Sun Stone and his/her Owner Sun Stone (if he/she IS head of household or owner of a home). In Shea's case, there is an added requirement in that you need to have obtained Wada's Sun Stone as well.

The reason for this is logical, actually. After marriage, your Spouse will live with YOU. This means that he/she no longer will live at the old address and you therefore cannot hope to trigger the Event that yields the owner Sun Stone any longer. In Lily's case, although she simply has a guest room at the Inn, she does have her own 'Owner' Sun Stone as well as her Personal Sun Stone. Will has one for his Ship... individuals who do not possess them include Natalie and Elliot as it is Taro who holds the Head of Household Sun Stone in THAT family.

Incidentally, if you are using cheats to obtain your Sun Stones, God help you, because I certainly can't. I strongly advise against the use of Cheats in any Harvest Moon or Rune Factory game. These games have too many variables to allow for cheats to be effective. Inevitably, something will not work... and it could be your chance to marry!

What are all the requirements to marry Shea? I already have the husband bed, the blue feather, seen all of his heart events, got his sun stone. But he keeps saying something like.
Blue feather...
from what kind of bird..?
Shea try to catch him.

I really hope you know what to do.

If you have experienced all his heart events and have him at deepest red heart level, then you probably are missing some GENERAL marriage requireemnts as opposed to specific requirements for Shea. for example, did you raise Mystic Islands and meet the Harvest Goddess? Have you met every one at the Church? You can't marry without the Harvest Goddess.

Hi, it's me again.
I did raise Mystic Island, and I met the Harvest Goddess. But I don't understand, he keeps saying the same thing.
So, this is all:
1. Have the Husband Bed
2. Seen all his heart events
3. Got his Sun Stone
4. Have raised Mystic Island
5. Have met Harvest Goddess

Is it maybe, because I met Wada? Because, I've really tried everything.

Me, again x'D

Well, I actually already raised sunny island..
I think that's the whole problem.
But, it's pretty weird I can't marry him after raising Sunny Island...
Still, thanks for helping me out... ^^

Oh, I actually forgot to say something, I think it's really cool what you're doing. Making all those guides and stuff. It really helped me out with those other games. I'm kind of addicted to Harvest Moon and Rune Factory x'D
Can't wait to play Rune Factory 3

xx
btw, I didn't introduce myself,
my name is Bobbie
(I'm a girl... most people think I'm a boy when they hear my name x'D)

Nice to meet you, Bobbie. Actually, traditionally Bobbie usually was a girl's name while Bobby was reserved for boys... but spellings are no longer 'set' by tradition, so I suspect this may not true always...

The problem with Shea is very vexing, and I don't think I have helped you at all if we haven't solved it. I may be forced to go directly to the 'source' and contact Natsume about this! You shouldn't be banned from marriage to Shea simply because you fulfilled ALL the goals in SI. It may be something else entirely. I had no trouble marrying Shea, but I performed all the marriages (for my guides) in the period between the sinking of Sunny Island and its recovery.

I seem to be having the same problem with Shea. I got all the requirements, except one... Well I googled it and you gotta have Wada and Shea at two hearts to get the 2nd sunstone from Shea. I believe I only got one from Shea, I think. I cant really remember : / But Im going to do that! Hope that helps both of us, lol.

Hi,

I just want to confirm that you must receive both sunstones from Shea and the sunstone from Wada before you are able to marry Shea. I had the same problem with Shea's admiration of the blue feather but no marriage (blue feather from what bird, etc) and I had also completed all requirements and saved Sunny Island. Once I received all 3 sunstones between Shea and Wada, when I presented the blue feather to Shea again, he accepted!!

So hopefully, this fixes the problem! :)

Cheers and Sayonara,

Hi!

I've been playing Harvest Moon with the help of your guides for a while and it's always been very useful.

But I'm having a little trouble here and tho I know it might be too late for commenting in this 6 months old entry, I'd like to leave this piece of info for anyone who reads after me.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think your info is also at fogu's site, right? Then, my question is if you are ok with the statement of Shea not being available after you get all 15 islands available.

Another thing that could get people confused is that it's impossible to raise Sunny island before getting married, I don't know why Bobbie says she did it but you need your child sun stone and that's only possible if you get married ;P

I don't want to marry Shea but I wanted to experience his hearts events. I got all 15 islands before seeing his blue heart event and now it won't go on, I've tried all times and weather and doesn't work.

I don't know how you made it but I followed your instructions and still, nothing.

So hope this helps in the future and you might want to change your marriage walkthrough to add this.

Burue, you are absolutely correct in stating that you need your Child's Sun Stone and obviously cannot obtain that unless you have married and had a Child! A player who claims to have raised Sunny Island before marriage must be using a cheat, something I NEVER recommend in Harvest Moon or Rune Factory.

I am not certain what you are trying to state where marriage Requirements are concerned. The specific requirements for marriage to Shea as far as I know are that you must have obtained his personal Sun Stone, his 'owner of household' Sun Stone AND Wada's Sun Stone. I am not certain what fogu says about it, but that's my belief on the subject. If my SI Courtship and Marriage Guide does not make this clear, then I need to revise it.

Thanks for answering so quickly.

I also hate cheats, not only for ruining the fun but also for ruining the game itself and all you've done.

About Marriage Requirements, I'm not sure if you need to have seen all Heart Events in order to fulfill them, but I don't want to marry Shea.

I just wanted to see his events. The bad thing is that, after getting all 15 islands and bringing Wada to Mushroom Island, it seems impossible to trigger Shea's Blue Heart Event and all the next ones.

That's why, when you say you performed all marriages after Sunny island sunk, do you mean that you just married boys in that period or also that you experienced their heart events?

Thanks again :)

Burue, experiencing ALL Heart Events for a Bachelor or Eligible Girl is one of the requirements for marriage. As the last Heart Event is the Yellow Heart Event, I experienced that one, then raised the level to deepest Red in order to be able to propose successfully to each Bachelor and marry him. With only one slot per game, I could not save the results after the successful proposal for each.
The schedules and the text of every Heart Event both for the Eligible Girls and the Eligible Bachelors is included in my SI Courtship and Marriage Guide. Unfortunately, with the need to experience ALL possible Events, as I said, I could not stay married to all of the Bachelors. In the end, in order to be able to experience all Rival Heart Events for the Guide, I married Mark (no rival) and then triggered all of the Rival Events near the start of the fourth year and then experienced all the Rival Weddings. As this was a test version of SI, I then sadly had to return the cartridge!

There is no good reason why you shouldn't be able to experience Shea's Heart Events now. Wada has to be on Mushroom Island if you wish to marry Shea because you need to be able to obtain his Sun Stone as well as both of Shea's Sun Stones.

Shea's Blue Heart Event,
Way of Warrior

Location: Shea's Tent
Time/Weather:
Sunny, 6.00 a.m to 7.50 a.m., 1.00 p.m. to 2.50 p.m., 8.00 p.m. to 9.50 p.m.
Rainy, 6.00 a.m. to 10.50 a.m., 3.00 p.m. to 9.50 p.m.
When I entered Shea's tent after 8.00 p.m. I experienced his Blue heart Event on a cloudy evening on 8 Winter.

Oh, I think I didn't explain it correctly, sorry, my english is not "complete" yet :P

But I understand what you're saying about all Heart Events being necessary to marry Bachelors. Too bad that you couldn't keep the game, maybe some things changed after the beta test was done?

Well, the actual problem with Shea, or at least that's what I've been reading at Fogu's forums, is that once Wada is living at Mushroom Island, not only visiting, then Shea's Blue Heart Event doesn't go.

Why? Because the event implies that Wada is visiting Shea, not living with him.

Having raised all islands and trying to trigger the Blue Heart Event, I have tried entering the tent with Wada inside and outside, during sunny and rainy days, on Wednesday's and Thursdays and the rest of the week. Nothing works, so I've started again because I had to improve some other things as well.

I'm sure that this time I'll get to see all Shea's events, but I will tell you once I do to confirm that without the 15 islands raised, it is possible.

Thanks again for everything.

Marta said...

Hi, double comment :P just to say that I started again, and it does work with Shea if you don't raise the 15 islands. I saw all his events without trouble. So that's it, once all the islands are up and Sunny sinks, there's no way to marry Shea.

Hope it helps!
