Marriage to Roy in Rune Factory 2

This is the last of the 'Mock Weddings' in the 2nd Generation game if your character is a girl:

I never thought of Roy as particularly romantic, but the event is rather touching.

This information is included in my Rune Factory 2 General Guide, Courtship and Marriage Guide and probably in the Requests Guide as well. You CANNOT marry in the 2nd Generation. Your character is a child and as such, not ready for a true married life. He/she will not become an adult, no matter how long you continue to play the game.

In Rune Factory 2, marriage really is a device to allow you to have a child and move forward into the Second Generation game. Your spouse will become your mother and it is not that important which one you choose. In Animal Parade, for example, choice of spouse has MANY effects, including the character of your child as well as the chores that your spouse will perform on your Ranch. This is not the case in RF2. You have either a boy or a girl and their character and appearance is set. It is in the 2nd Generation that most of the real action and story occurs. In my opinion, experiencing all the Request Events with all Eligible Girls before you marry is the most important strategy. You will not lose the services of any Eligible Girl by marrying her. Yue still will sell her Bargains when she becomes your mother, although her schedule will be a little different.

Actually, the bottom line if you want a real recommendation is that I would advise marriage to Mana. There is no Rival for her heart. She is utterly devoted to you. Other Eligible Girls without rivals are Yue and Alicia. If you marry a Girl with a Rival, the Rival will marry Yue instead, so you won't lose any characters in the 2nd Generation... so it is really your choice in the end but the game really is more elegant if you allow the Rival Couples as planned to marry.
