Animal Parade Marches Joyously into my Heart

This is nothing more than an announcement that my own copy of Animal Parade has arrived, complete with darling Duck and Sunshine Island's Pink Pig! I will begin my General Guide for Animal Parade now and hope that I can race against the clock to send at least a preliminary version to IGN before their deadline of 4.00 p.m. (PST) on a Friday afternoon... the Friday in question being Friday the 13th! This is a day that actually was NOT considered unlucky in many pagan traditions... it obviously has been lucky for me personally today.

The music at the portal of your new Adventure in Animal Parade could not have been calculated better to rouse my own excitement. It is traditional 'carousel' music, a stirring march that transports me instantly to one of my favourite memories from chilchood. I love the carousel. I still love it. When I mount one of those brightly-caparisoned wooden steeds and feel the wind in my hair as I ride the magical circle of enchantment of chilchood, my cares gradually are stripped from me and all the burdens of adulthood can be pushed to the back of my soul for a few golden moments. Animal Parade very fittingly has the same sort of music as the player spiritually mounts the 'ride' to adventure... (The Wii instruction to: 'Put on and tighten your wrist strap' only strengthens the illusion of riding a carousel actually, remembering the leather straps to be worn as a child to prevent an untimely tumble from the horse.)

If you watch the opening film in Animal Parade carefully, you won't need a Game Guide from me.... Although that statement isn't entirely accurate, it is a marvelous, enchanting film and it DOES give hints as to most of the vital elements and options in Animal Parade.

Links for Sunshine Islands Guides by Freyashawk

You now will find links to my various Guides for Sunshine Islands on the right side of this page, under the heading of Sunshine Islands.

As usual, ALL of these Guides are 'works in progress'. With hundreds and hundreds of pages in my game journal, there still is a great deal of information that needs to be added to each of the Guides, as well as a little 'Initial Walkthrough' section for the General Guide.

Even so, the General Guide should contain the information you need to make a decent start in the game. The Courtship and Marriage Guide contains the schedule of every Heart Event both in the 'boy version' and the 'girl version'. For each of the Bachelors, I have included the actual text of most of the Heart Events and will continue to add to that.

My Calendar Guide will contain the text of every Festival Event and information for each of the Animal Contest Festivals. At present, the Calendar itself is fairly complete with all Crops that can be grown in each season, Wild Items that can be collected, all Birthdays with at least one suggested Gift and all existing Festivals as well as those that can be unlocked.

The Characters Guide deals with every Character in Sunshine Islands, including the Harvest Sprites. I still need to add many of the Friendship Events to it, but it does contain all the vital information in terms of Gifts and Birthdays.

I had hoped to complete the Cookbook Recipes Guide before the game was released today, but it involves so much typing and numbers (Stamina/Fullness) that it simply could not be completed if I wished to put together the other Guides as well. It does contain the majority of Recipes, including Optional Ingredients. The General Guide actually has some Cooking sections that give some easy early Recipes with alterations that are easy to obtain and will improve them.

To answer a question that has been posed to me many times today, yes, I will be writing Guides for Animal Parade as well but as I had no access to this game prior to its release (unlike Sunshine Islands), it will take longer for me to be able to produce them.

For all Harvest Moon fans and players

As Freyashawk, I have written about 150 guides for games, most of which have been guides for Harvest Moon games. These are published on IGN. IGN has given me the title of 'Mistress of Harvest Moon' and I strive daily to earn the right to maintain that title. Although there is a link page on IGN that lists all the guides published there, they are not organised by game, but rather given in alphabetical order. I therefore created this page in order to provide links to the guides I have created for each Harvest Moon game. If you access the General Guide for any game, links should be included to all other guides for that game in a section at the end. I will try to add links to ALL guides as time permits, but until I do, you always can refer to my user page at IGN for the complete list.

How to Use my Guides

I write three different basic types of game guides. I usually write a General Guide for every game, which is fairly comprehensive and deals with all aspects of the game. It may or may not be in the form of a Walkthrough, dealing with game aspects as they occur. My Innocent Life General Guide is an example of a General Guide that is organised as a Walkthrough.

After writing a General Comprehensive Guide, I often write a Calendar Guide giving birthday and festival dates, with additional information that may be helpful, such as favourite gifts for each individual. For all Harvest Moon games, I usually write a number of 'mini-guides', such as Events Guides for each year of gameplay, or Recipe Guides that give all recipes one can make. Fishing, Mining, Shipping or Item Value Guides are other mini-guides that can be very useful when playing Harvest Moon. Character Guides give detailed information about every character in any specific game. My Courtship and Marriage Guide is devoted to all aspects of Courtship and Marriage, including schedules of Heart Events, Rival Heart Events and the likes and dislikes of every Eligible Girl and/or Bachelor.

Although this site is devoted to Harvest Moon, I have included links to game guides for other games. I created a separate link section for Animal Crossing Wild World as well, because I wrote more than one guide for that game.

N.B. All my game guides are published by IGN. This webpage has been created simply to allow players to find links to all my guides more easily.

Copyright Infringement Warning

It is really sad to discover that there are individuals who are willing to steal my guides and to attempt to publish them under their names. Fortunately, there are many players who recognise my guides when they see them anywhere on the internet and who are willing to alert me when some one tries to steal my material. I want to thank all those players for their help in these cases.

Some one stole one of my guides and tried to publish it on Gamefaqs under his/her name. The guide has been removed and the poster has been banned. I now have a contact in the Legal Department at CNet. I spend many months sometimes writing a guide. They are available for the private use of any individual without cost, but they are not available for theft!

Friends of Mineral Town and More Friends of Mineral Town

You will notice that I wrote far more guides for More Friends of Mineral Town than I did for the original 'Friends of Mineral Town'. At some point, I would like to publish more specific Events Guides for Friends of Mineral Town, but players should be aware of the fact that ALL Calendar Events Guides for MFoMT can be used when playing the original FoMT. The Events are the same in most cases in both games. If, therefore, you are playing FoMT and you wish to know the events that can be experienced in the third year of gameplay, refer to the 'Third Year Calendar Events Guide' for 'More Friends of Mineral Town'.
